Retreating to Advance Matthew 2:13 AMP Now after they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, Get up! [Tenderly] take unto you the young Child and His mother and flee to Egypt; and remain there till I tell you [otherwise], for Herod intends to search for the Child in order to destroy Him. 2 Timothy 2:22 AMP Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness (all that is virtuous and good, right living, conformity to the will of God in thought, word, and deed); [and aim at and pursue] faith, love, [and] peace (harmony and concord with others) in fellowship with all [Christians], who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart. Fight or flee? In advanced tactical warefare sometimes the quickest way to win the battle is to retreat, flee, move, change locations. Retreat is a strategic military tactic to turn the battle in your favor and break the enemys power..It is like sacrificing your queen in a chess match to checkmate your opponent.. As we advance into warefare there are times you win the battle by not fighting. Not that your are not ready or are scared of the enemy- but the Holy Spirit who knows all things is telling you not to-can be confusing. Jesus waa born by the power of the Holy Ghost but the only way the Holy Ghost could protect the baby Jesus was for Joseph to literally flee to Egypt as a common criminal..Could not God who made the world and visited plagues upon Israel protect Jesus from Herod? For though we walk in the flesh we do bot war after the flesh indeed. There are some peopke the only way they can marry is to break the relationship they are in. They will come out and marry in no time because a retreat gives you define acceleration. Others have to leave their jobs, relocate from their homes as the Holy Ghost leads you. In other words there are some battles we win by fleeing like youthful lusts.For a long time I wondered why Jesus left the town when he heard John had been killed? Matthew 14:12-13 AMP And Johns disciples came and took up the body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus. When Jesus heard it, He withdrew from there privately in a boat to a solitary place. But when the crowds heard of it, they followed Him [by land] on foot from the towns. Why must all this happen? This is because in the realms of the spirit and at any point in our lives some locations are more strategic than others. We retreat to s higher ground. Sometimes where you are is in the pit and its just s matter of time you will be defeated so God causes a move, a change which is not pleasing to the the flesh because in the natural we need stability, consistency but you will notice that those movements will give you an advantage, an overtaking anointing for one day of favor is better than 100 days of labor.. I can see people coming out of relationships, changing jobs, homes, schools and you are wondering what is happening to you? The Holy Spirit is causing you to retreat in order to advance. God Bless u.
