Returned home today from the hospital after my laparoscopic - TopicsExpress

Returned home today from the hospital after my laparoscopic appendectomy yesterday. If theres such a thing as a DREAM surgery, this was it! No pain, no nausea, not even dizziness. Walked right off the table. My surgeon, Dr. Tutela and anesthesiologist, Dr. Chaudury, were AMAZING! A mere 55 hours after our spectacular NJ Capital Philharmonic Orchestra New Years Eve gala and champagne reception, Herman had to rush me to the hospital with a ruptured appendix. Surgery was too risky due to the rupture, so I had 3 days in-hospital intravenous antibiotics and more antibiotics at home and an interval appendectomy which was to be 6 weeks later. I worried about brain cell loss at my age due to anesthesia affecting my playing, so I pushed it off. But the risk was another attack and losing some of the large and small intestine, so I went in yesterday to be ready in time for late March/April concerts. The drs. understood and were fabulous. The first thing I did on waking was draw some down-bows and up-bows and envision notes on the staff. No problem. I was only completely assured when I had remembered all the names of nurses I had met that day in pre and post-op departments and had even correctly remembered all the names of nurses I had met in 9 Tower surgery floor on my January visit. The surgery was a gazillion times better than the rupture. What a spectacular surprise! YAY!
