Returning home from Toledo last night, I passed through - TopicsExpress

Returning home from Toledo last night, I passed through Perrysburg, Ohio to make a deposit at a PNC branch ATM. Being aware of the community I was in, I paid attention to the speed limits. As it happened, I ended up behind a marked police SUV. The speed limit was 25 mph, I was going between 28 - 30 mph. At a certain point, the Police SUV turns on left turning signal, I proceeded east, noticing that behind me was another police cruiser. The SUV does not make the left turn, but instead gets behind me. By this time, Ive arrived at the bank, and turn into the drive thru for the ATM. Then the police puts on his lights, and pulls in behind me. After some time, one of the two white, young officers riding in the SUV approaches the front passenger door. He greets me, then asks for my license, registration, and proof of insurance. I inquire, Why am I being stopped? He replies, You were doing 40 mph in a 25 mph zone. I objected, I was paying very close attention to my speed, sir, and I was doing between 28-30 mph. I was right behind you. He says, Another officer clocked you doing 40 mph. So I asked, Does he have that on His radar? Id like to see it! Then the other officer in a forceful tone insists for my documents. Not wanting the situation to get escalated, I complied, but I noted, I have a right to know why Im being stopped, and you know this is not right! After several minutes, the first officer returns and politely says, Sir, we just stopped you as a matter of warning. Please drive carefully. This foolishness and harassment of police has to be confronted and addressed. I wonder what would have taken place in another scenario.
