(Reuters) - Democratic Republic of Congos powerful Catholic church on Wednesday threw its weight behind opposition to a move that could extend President Joseph Kabilas rule, and it denounced a government crackdown that a rights group said killed 42 people. With anti-government protests in the capital Kinshasa in their third day, the leader of Congos Catholics, Cardinal Laurent Mosengwo Pasinya, strongly criticised any attempt to postpone a presidential election due next year.
