Blamo. Nigerian Ambassador accredited to Liberia, Chigozie F. Obi-Nnadozie has sounded out in strong words that there will be no protection for Nigerians who will not abide by the laws of their host country, Liberia. Speaking on Wednesday when officials of the United Bank of Africa (UBA) paid a courtesy call on her at the Nigerian Embassy in Congo Town. Nnadozie pointed out that the Embassy will only intercede on behalf of law-abiding Nigerians who are taking on positive ventures in Liberia and not criminals. The Nigerian Envoy said she will collaborate with all Nigerians and Nigerian businesses in the country but warned that anyone who refuses to live and abide by the laws of their host country will not be protected by the Embassy at all. She then used the occasion to call on her kinsmen in Liberia to showcase their country by taking on meaningful ventures that will promote the image of Nigeria. “We will not get involved with any activity of Nigerians who will refuse to abide by the laws of Liberia or people who get involved in criminal activities. Every country has its own laws that others must obey but failure on your parts to abide by the laws of Liberia, the Embassy will not get involved,” Amb. Nnadozie stressed. She assured all Nigerians residing in Liberia who continue to obey the laws of Liberia to rest assure as the Embassy will always be there for them in case of any situation. “You must seize the opportunity to showcase your country by what you do here in Liberia; use the opportunity to tell the positive things of our country by how you conduct yourselves while in Liberia considering the role Nigeria played during Liberias years of civil unrest,” Ambassador Nnadozie added. She said Nigeria has done lots of positive things around the world for which the country must be appreciated but those things need to be pointed out by Nigerians themselves by what they do while in other countries.
