Revegetation work on Scottsdale Reserve in NSW (with Greening - TopicsExpress

Revegetation work on Scottsdale Reserve in NSW (with Greening Australia) consists of some 90km of direct seeding & 20,000 tube stock – now extended to some grassland re-establishment too. Two small sites in the middle of the reveg areas have been burned (to remove weeds) & 15cm of top soil (with high weed content) has been removed. Areas are then seeded & fenced, with about half the seed produced in our own volunteer-run nursery, including such plants as bulbines, trigger plants, chocolate nodding, yam daisies, blue devils & grasses. We hope that once the wattles and eucs establish they’ll help change the soil allowing these plants, and other native grasses to slowly once again dominate the valley floor. blog.bushheritage.org.au/blog/article/Grassland-reveg-at-scottsdale
