Revelation 12-13 is filled with mysterious imagery that has been been misinterpreted and abused by many otherwise-respectable teachers. You have an angry dragon, a sea beast who miraculously survives a fatal head wound, an earth beast that performs miracles, and a statue brought to life that demands worship, on pain of death. Theres a lot there useful for charlatans who exploit trusting souls! I wouldnt worry so much about the meaning of the mysterious images. When the time comes, you will understand everything you need to understand. In the meantime, ponder this: The angry dragon will declare war against all who keep Gods commandments and confess that they belong to Jesus. The sea beast will wage war against Gods holy people and overcome them. Believers destined for prison will be arrested and taken away, those destined for death will be killed. But do not be dismayed, for here is your opportunity to have endurance and faith. (Revelation 12:17; 13:7-10 NLT96) Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand -- and be prepared.
