Revelation 14:1-5 THE LAMB AND THE 144,000 Then I looked, - TopicsExpress

Revelation 14:1-5 THE LAMB AND THE 144,000 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Fathers name written on their foreheads. 2And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. 3They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. 4These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 5And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of God. Chuck Smith, 14:1 Back in Revelation 7:1-3, before the four winds of judgment were released upon the earth, the angels were ordered not to release those devastating winds until the servants of God could be sealed. Here we are told what that seal is: the name of God written on their foreheads. Revelation 7:1-3 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or any tree. 2Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3saying, Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads. 14:3 It seems that each group in heaven will have certain songs that are especially appropriate to that particular group. Earlier in ch. 5, we saw the song of the redeemed church. Here we see the 144,000 will have a special song that no one can sing except them. Each of us has a unique relationship with God. Our song is a song of deliverance from the great tribulation. The song of the 144,000 will be a song of deliverance through the great tribulation. 14:5 Without fault before the throne of God —that is quite a statement. But that is exactly how we will stand before God, if we are in Christ. At the close of his epistle, Jude said, Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy (Jude 24). And that is the way God sees you who are in Jesus Christ. Faultless!
