Revelation Commentary Chapter 19, by Walt Grace Father in Heaven, Your servant asks for clarity and time to finish the work you have given. May it be for Your glory and to help reach the undecided. Your servant asks for this in Jesus name, Amen. Revelation 19 is one of the longer chapters in a relatively short book in the Bible. This is the capstone of the judgments on the earth. 1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. (The Whore, the counterfeit church of Revelation 17 has got her just judgment.) 3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. (These elders, as explained in an earlier study, will probably look to be in their late twenties to mid-thirties. The text says they are men, so they probably will be men and a literal twenty four of them. These people will be in their glorified bodies, and probably selected for these positions throughout the ages. Whatever the criteria for this, the positions will be quite the honor. Even so, everyone getting a crown will cast it before Jesus. After all it was His glory all along.) 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. (Satan and his Antichrist may not know it, but their rule is over as of this point. The Great Tribulation is over for believers and the it will be Jesus, not the evil one who has authority over them.) 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. (Hope you dont mind white, white or white, because if you are a raptured believer or a Tribulation martyr, this is your fashion statement. Some commentators have suggested that that these outfits will be adorned with gold or precious stones and varying degrees of yardage. This writer believes that these will be robes will be an outer covering, much like those worn throughout the ages. They will be so white it will put the oxy cleaner commercials to shame. This writer is sure they will be fashionable and comfortable as well as modest. The text says nothing about shoes, but sandals were the norm back then and the brand will be unknown.) 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (Jesus is in a take no prisoners mood here. After all the judgments, all the warnings and the sad thing is that people will take up arms against Him.) 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. (These were the crowns the raptured saints and trib martyrs cast before Him. His eyes being a flame of fire will be sign that He means business. As for the name that only He knows, means that He knows everything.) 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (This blood is that of His enemies. War in early Biblical times meant that people fought with swords and clubs and getting blood on oneself from enemies was commonplace.) 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. (The raptured saints will be on these horses, and this writer is sure that everyone who is saved has a name for theirs. They fact that their linen is clean means that they [we] wont participate in the fighting, which will be more like one sided slaughters.) 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (This is graphic, but the truth is that a literal sword will come from Jesus mouth, but it will be His word that will be that sword, not some giant blade. Soldiers and animals will be literally slashed to pieces and all the blood will resemble the product of a winepress. This will be four feet deep. Since Jesus will on a horse in the air when this happens, He will step into the blood as a sign of actually being in he fight Himself, not as the Antichrist who is likely in hiding somewhere.) 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; (Every vulture, buzzard, crow and other carrion eating bird on the face of the earth will be there to partake in this grizzly feast. Even though these birds could block out the sun, there will still be light plainly seen. No shadows at all.) 18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. (Every one of the Antichrists men and women will be destroyed at this point. Any employees of the global village will meet this fate, whether in Israel or Hackensack N.J.) 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Both the Antichrist and his buddy the False Prophet, will be captured and taken back to Jesus to face judgment. Because their sins are so horrific and theyve led BILLIONS into hell, these men will be thrown ALIVE into the Lake of Fire, and be their first permanent residents.) 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (Any one of the Antichrists men still lurking [there will be no shadows] will still meet the same fate, as bird food.) The message given here is a literal account of what will happen in the not too distant future. The universe has a Creator who is all powerful and all knowing and might as well be everywhere too. He is totally just, righteous and innocent and will not allow sin into His presence. Rebellion is useless against someone so powerful and even in His indignation, provided a way out of our just punishment. This is Jesus Christ, God the Son, Who laid down His life in ransom for ours. What the Law has taught through its fulfillment in Christ Jesus and His sacrifice for us is that sin has a price. It is either Christs blood, or your if you reject Him and choose your own path. The depths of hell could have Frank Sinatras I Did it My Way because this is so fitting of the residents of this horrible place of eternal suffering. Those who chose to reject Jesus will have to live with this consequence for eternity. In short, you choosing to do it you way is to choose hell. The time for salvation is today, and this may be as close to an altar call as many will ever get. Please, admit you are a sinner, and ask Jesus to forgive you and surrender your life and will to Him. Time is short and it would be be good to do it while the cost is still small. Maranatha!
