Revenue official arrested for taking bribe Sachnews Jammu Kashmir Correspondent Bilal Habib Pampore, January 20: A revenue official was arrested by Vigilance Organization of Kashmir on Monday on charges of taking bribe from a local for attesting his land documents. A vigilance official told Bilal Habib that official Kanungo Syed Jalal-ud-din Shah at Tehsil office Pampore was caught red handed allegedly taking bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant Nazir Ahmad Lalwani. According to Nazir, the revenue official had already charged Rs 1000 from him last week. “After receiving the complaint, we launched the operation in the morning and caught the revenue official red handed taking bribe amount from the complainant,” said a Vigilance official wishing anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak to media. He said that a case under FIR number 3/2015 was lodged against the officer.
