Reverend Turner had fought the dog and barely won. He pinned the growling dog by the throat, as it bared its teeth at him. By the time Turner got home, his whole suit was coated with fur and road dust, his knee bleeding, a hole his pants, and he had an angry, year-old husky in his car. Turner did not need or want a dog. A church family put the dog up for adoption because they were moving, and it became Turners job to find the dog a home. Turner tied the dog by its leash to a tree and went inside to change. Outside again, he untied the dog, but left the leash on, figuring he could catch the dog should it run off. Turner was wrong. The dog was smart and wouldnt let Turner within five feet of him. After chasing the dog for an hour, he gave up and sprinted away, to see if the dog would chase him. The dog did, ran beside him, looked up at him, and glanced at Turners sprinting legs. He caught one of Turners legs at the back of the knee with his sharp canine teeth, lightly slid those teeth down to the Achilles tendon in one swift move, then jumped ahead, stopped, and sat down. Turner knew that the husky could have taken him down. The dog knew that, too. They eyed each other. The sitting dog made it clear that mutual respect was necessary. Lets Pray: Dear God, to get respect we need to give respect, but we may need to earn it to be worthy of it. We pray we are. Amen. Heres a Thought: Show proper respect.* Reference: *1Peter 2:18 Show proper respect to everyone...
