Review: The House of Gyros (904 E. Davis). Well I had planned to have a nice romantic dinner here tonight but plans changed (tired hubby) so I opted for take out. We ordered 2 Gyros, 3 pork meat sticks(yes they have a different name but cant think of it:) and an order of calamari. Oh.My.Goodness!! So good!! The gyros were big and yummy. Very filling. I wish I had asked for extra tzatziki sauce because I love to dip (will do that next time) but even without the extra it was awesome. The meat was perfect and I loved the little onions and the juicy tomatoes. We split the calamari which was about the best Ive ever had. Seriously. Each piece was crispy but tender on the inside and was flavored differently than Ive ever had...lemony. Wasnt a big fan of the marinara dipping sauce but Kyle loved it. I had planned on splitting the meat sticks but that didnt happen. Kyle ate them all except for a tiny bite he graciously shared with me:) Delicious, tender, and had that grilled flavor that is so good. They also gave us lots of pita bread and even some little greek donut hole type pastry (best way for me to describe it) that had a honey syrup on them. Very sweet so I couldnt eat them all but also very good!! Will be going back again soon. Really want to go on a warm day and eat outside on the little porch/patio area. Had a cute fun feel even in the dark tonight. Remember EAT MESQUITE!!
