Review on Tripadvisor from our Guests!! From the moment we landed at Srinagar airport till the time our plane took off a week later, we felt as if we have entered a fairy-tale world and enjoyed every bit of it. It started snowing heavily as soon as we reached Srinagar, the comfortable drive from Airport to Mountview Villa was full of breathtaking views of life in Srinagar under snowfall. And the kind soul from Mountview Villa driving the vehicle became an instant friend, specially for our kids Meera and Kabir and so does all the other staff members at Mountview Villa who helped Meera and Kabir made a number of snowmen in the garden. The food was simply superb, home cooked style delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, cooked to perfection as per our request for spices. The kids ate better than home, without any fuss :-). By the time we reached the hotel and settled down in our warm and cozy room it was getting dark, still we decided to take the short walk from the hotel to The Dal which looked stunning in the setting sun and a hot cup of coffee from a nearby shop. The Nishant Garden was also just down the road, but it was already closing time and we decided to leave it for the next day and walked back to the hotel through snow covered streets The view outside the window our our second floor room at Mountview Villa was a stunning proof of why everyone calls Kashmir a Heaven on earth. We spent our days driving around Srinagar and the neighboring areas of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonmarg, etc. and by the evening time we were back at our temporary home away from home - and it does felt like. Kids would be happily munch on lovely snacks and drawing beautiful landscape they saw during the day while Abha and me would would enjoy our hot cup of coffee sitting by the fire. It was just perfect. The place felt just like home all through our stay, staff at the Villa are extremely friendly and helpful; we had a wonderful time and look forward to going there again, next time in summers to see the Srinagar decorated with blooming flowers. A word of advice for people looking for luxurious resort type experience - It is a small boutique establishment, more like a home away from home. There are limited rooms with adequate & competent staff members to manage them and they work really hard with a constant smile on their face. It is better to have realistic expectations and then enjoy your stay - there is so much more to do outdoor in Kashmir and Mountview Villa is just the right place to have a warm good night sleep.
