Reviews of Vince, a novel by Peter Lane A super novel for teenagers that uses a fast moving adventure to explore the issues of Holocaust denial and the Palestinian situation. The hero is a young lout whose potential is discovered by a sympathetic teacher and whose special qualities are needed by MI5. A potential asset to History teachers and highly recommended for the school library, Vince would also make a good class reader in English lessons. -The Teacher, the magazine of the NUT, circulation 300,000+ (Jan-Feb 2014 edition) I was fortunate also this month to read a new fiction title that has been published that makes the Holocaust and its many related debates accessible to teenagers. Vince, by Peter Lane, is the story of a disaffected and alienated, eponymously named teenager who learns about the wartime fate of the Jews and also about a sinister plot against the State of Israel. He might be a youth offender, but that doesnt mean he cant be British Intelligences last hope. For any educators out there, this is a title well worth stocking in the teen fiction section of your school libraries. Explaining History newsletter (June 2013) Vince Viggors, 14 years old, string of convictions, two ASBOs. Always in the bottom set for everything at school, father in prison, mother on the game. Then why does MI5 think Vince might be their last hope to defeat a conspiracy that could leave millions dead worldwide? What has the conspiracy to do with the Holocaust and the state of Israel? Was Vince born bad or did he just grow up that way? amazon.co.uk/Vince-Peter-Lane/dp/190809026X/ref=tmm_pap_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1347732982&sr=1-1
