Revised Garage Fire at 2708 W. Old Yankton Road Sioux Falls, South Dakota: At 8:57 p.m., May 22, 2014 Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a garage fire at 2708 W. Old Yankton Rd. When fire crews arrived on scene, there was a small fire on the driveway in front of the garage. It was then reported that there was a small fire in the garage caused by spilled gasoline. Firefighters found a small fire in the garage involving a lawn mower. The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes. There was minor fire and smoke damage to the garage. The cause of the fire was due to an overfilled gas tank on a lawn mower. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 4 fire trucks, two support vehicles and 18 firefighters. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to remind you to refuel your lawn mower outdoors in a well-ventilated area with a cool engine.
