Rewind retro video of the day... A Dark Rewind bonus (because Allen also requested it yesterday), here are Simple Minds with their 1980 single I Travel from their 3rd album Empires and Dance. The song failed to chart, but not because of its popularity. Despite generally great reviews, their record label Arista only released a small batch of records at a time when the previous batch sold out. This had the effect of limiting availability for fans. Not only did Arista do this to the single, but the album as well. Needless to say, the band got fed up with this and switched labels to Virgin. The follow-up single Celebrate took place during the label change, and the picture sleeve 7 is now one of the bands hardest singles to find amongst collectors. The Manic Street Preachers were huge fans of the band, especially with Empires and Dance. They went so far as to use the same typeface for their album The Holy Bible (94), and was a key influence on their album Futurology (14). https://youtube/watch?v=_6MwzSaBBQY
