Rewind retro video of the day... Get your $5 tickets for David J by leaving Rewind a message on our FB page! Here is Love & Rockets with their 1987 single All in My Mind from their 86 album Express. No chart rankings. After their 89 self-titled album and a grueling tour, the band took a 5-year hiatus before returning to the studio. Both David J and Daniel Ash recorded solo albums during this time. J would release his albums Songs From Another Season (90, which produced the single Ill Be Your Chauffeur) and Urban Urbane (92). Daniel Ash released the albums Coming Down (91, including the single This Love) and Foolish Thing Desire (92). Haskins contributed Daniel Ashs albums during this period. When L&R returned, they released Hot Trip to Heaven (94), Sweet F.A. (96), and their final album Lift (98). Hot Trip to Heaven and Sweet F.A. were produced by producer Rick Rubins American Recordings label. While recording Sweet F.A., a fire broke out in a house owned by American Recordings where the band was living. The band escaped, but their friend Genesis P. Orridge (Psychic TV) was injured, and L&R lost their gear along with a majority of their recordings. A burnt guitar from the fire was used on the cover of Sweet F.A. A lengthy legal battle ensued and L&R were found not responsible, but they were left with a hefty legal bill. They released their last album Lift on Red Ant Records and disbanded the following year. youtube/watch?v=aMnaa__JZbU
