Reyes-led Blasters down Elites Marvis Reyes put up a virtuoso performance in carrying CFVR Cable Blasters against a resilient Casecon Elites in racing to their third straight win 93-88 in the ongoing eliminations round of C-League at the San Antonio Covered Court, September 12, 2014. Reyes posted a season high 37 points and on a consecutive 30+ point game after scoring 32 the previous game was unstoppable, willing his team in fighting back against the sweet-shooting Elites. Reyes put up a show to remember, hitting inside- out to power Cable Blasters who played catch up the whole game. The Elites raced to an early double digit lead shooting the lights out from beyond the arc in setting the tone for the greater part of the game. Casecon unleashed seven three-pointers all game long to nearly upset the undefeated Cable Blasters. The last season runner regrouped and unleashed the full-court press to trim down the lead and eventually posting its own double-digit lead. With momentum shifting on their side, CFVR successfully warded off several Casecon runs in sealing the ballgame at the end. The game between CFVR and Casecon got a little heated during the first half where Marvin Tojos was called for unsportsmanlike foul. Casecon however failed to capitalize on the penalty, failing to convert the awarded two freethrows. CFVR will take the break next week and will resume their campaign against Facilities Troopers on September 23, 12pm.
