Reyhanehs birthday celebrations - Shole Pakravans message as translated into English by Yassi Molazadeh ------------------------------------------------------- Today Shole Pakravan posted the following message and photos Last night, together with my daughter’s friends and classmates, we organised a ceremony which had Reyhan’s scent. Scent of birthday. Scent of continuation of life. The absence of all those people who live far away from us could be felt. We took many pictures and recorded videos. Unfortunately a low pest deleted all of them with a virus. These photos have been recovered. So far we haven’t been able to recover the videos. I know one thing – that if necessary this old soldier, who knows nothing about computers apart from typing slowly, will endeavor to learn for the sake of his commander and in order to disable those who try to destroy pictures and videos and… Duty bound officers can relax, the cake was not made by my neighbour’s bakery!!! An old and pleasant confectioner made it with shaky hands. That person wrote the writing on the cake too. I struggled to cut into my daughter’ beautiful picture. It was difficult even though it was just on a cake. My husband insisted that I should have the piece with Reyhaneh’s face on it. This was also difficult. But when I was swallowing it, I told myself “I’ll hide all of her being inside me”. I must now put myself in her shoes in order to be able to decide and speak on her behalf. Reyaheh’s birthday looks and feels different. When we attended her grave today, the duty bound office asked “Weren’t you supposed to come at 6 this morning?” My simple and straight answer put him to shame. He distanced himself and left, even though his friends were protecting us, lest God forbid we were attacked by the wondering ghosts at Behesht Zahra cemetry!!! My answer was “We slept. We rested. Our alarm clock didn’t go off and we overslept!!!”
