Reynaldo HAHN was not only a Genius Composer: he was also a conductor, a singer and a music critic. Born in Venezuela in 1874, he was naturalized French in 1909. As a child prodigy, he composed his first Songs at the age of eight. At the Conservatoire in Paris, he had several teachers as MASSENET, GOUNOT and SAINT-SAENS. His favorite poets were Victor HUGO, Paul VERLAINE. His most important meeting was with the writer Marcel PROUST: both loved painting, literature, and G.FAUREs music. As they became lovers, and while they traveled a lot together and worked on different projects, HAHN became also one of the best critics on Music. On Sunday April 6 at 4:00 pm, Le Salon de Musiques celebrates La Belle Epoque featuring four Genius composers: Reynaldo HAHN, Benjamin GODARD, Ernest CHAUSSON and Samuel COLERIDGE TAYLOR, performed by four amazing musicians, Hae Ji CHANG Soprano, Tereza STANISLAV Violin, Cecilia TSAN Cello and Steven VANHAUWAERT Piano.
