Reza is beautifully articulate, and attempts to clear up many misconceptions regarding Islam (Muslims). Would his thoughts not be extremely valuable in relation to Christianity and most other religions also? Reza says the following: Does Buddhism promote violence, of course not. People are violent or peaceful and that depends on their politics, their social world, the way that they see their communities, the way they see themselves. -- Reza Aslan Buddhism is not currently a threat to us (Australia). There may have been violence recently overseas, but we havent been affected. Islam (Quran) does promote violence. Islam (Quran) is full of ideas that promote the lying to and/or killing of the infidel. Mohammed murdered and beheaded many for being infidels, and he married under aged children. He is considered to be the perfect person under Islam. -- J Alway Islam inspires people to murder, dominate, distrust, not-integrate etc. Its part of the ideology. Its in writing, and unfortunately, many believe and act upon it. Those who dont however (the silent majority) are possibly just as culpable in condoning such actions and beliefs by their inaction!
