Rhapsody of Realities Daily Devotional Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD Theme: sufficient In His Sufficiency Date: Thursday November 7th, 2013 Scriptural Ref: 2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God (2 Corinthians 3:5). When the scriptures says our sufficiency is of God, it means the ability with which we function is Gods ability. His ability is at work in us. Were strengthened with the strength of God. His devine energy is at work in you . Youre therefore up to any task. The Greek word is hikanotes, which means to have competence or ability, the quality of been adequately fortified and enabled physically, intellectually, mentally, and spiritually for any task! The Apostle Paul made a striking remark to this effect when he said, Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily (Colossians 1;29). No wonder he lived such an inspiring and extraordinary life as an Apostle of Jesus Christ. He acknowledged and took advantage of the power of God that was at work in him mightily. In Philippians 4:13, he said, I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. By that, he wasnt saying, God is able; so Hes going to help me do all things, no! He was referring to an inherent ability in him! He understood that the glorious anointing of the Holy Spirit was at work in him mightily. Youre sufficient in Gods sufficiency. This means that your abilities are unlimited; nothing is impossible unto you. Nothing can put you down or wear you out. Isaiah 40:31 says, ... They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint, he renews your strength day by day; meaning that your strength is continuously exchanged for His strength. What a life we have in Him; a life of the supernatural and infinite possibilities. Halleluiah. PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for being my strength and my glory; Im stirred and ready for anything, and competent to excellently accomplish any task through your Spirit that infuses inner strength into me! Im sufficient in your sufficiency! Glory!
