Rhapsody of RealitiesWednesday, March 12th Knowing His Voice (Pastor Anita Oyakhilome) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any manhear my voice, and open the door, I will come in tohim, and will sup with him, and he with me(Revelation 3:20). The Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John10:27). In other words, if you belong to Christ, youhave no problem discerning His voice. Manywonder if it’s possible to hear God speak, in aworld where there’re so many voices. The wordsof the Master in John 10:2-5 clarify this: “But hethat entereth in by the door is the shepherd of thesheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheephear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. Anda stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. ”The more you study the Word, the more you recognize and know the voice of God, because God and His Word are one. He speaks through His Word. Even if He were to give you a prophecy or a word from the Spirit, it’ll always be consistent with His written Word. Through constant meditation on His Word, His voice becomes clearer to you, and His blessings become manifest in all you do. Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. ”If, as a Christian, you’ve found it difficult to recognize God’s voice, you need to keep hearing and receiving His Word into your spirit, to become sensitive to His voice. You’d need to develop avoracious appetite for the Word. Colossians 3:16says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom….” The voice of God’s Spirit is made known to you through the written Word. Moreover, you have to learn to act on the Word quickly. When you receive instructions or counsel fromGod’s Word, don’t delay; act quickly. That’slearning to train your spirit. In addition, praying in the spirit, that is, praying intongues, helps your spirit to be conditioned to bein sync with God’s ideas, visions and promptings. The more you pray in tongues, the more sensitive your spirit will be to His voice. Confession I know the voice and the leading of the Spirit, forI’m a child of God. I’m always quick to respond to the promptings, instructions and counsel from God’s Word, and from His Holy Spirit within me. Amen. F U R T H E R S T U D Y: Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace inyour hearts to the Lord. ; Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words;incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. ;Isaiah 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto Isent it.
