Rhode Island’s GOP under Fire for AR-15 Raffle Rhode Island’s Republican Party has been about raising funds for upcoming elections. One method they selected this week was raffle off an AR-15. The raffle, set to end this Sunday, has brought a considerable amount of criticism, even from those in the party set to use the money as part of their campaign fund. The AR-15 is especially hated by liberals, due to its repeated use in mass murders. “While I am a supporter of the Second Amendment, as a former criminal prosecutor I have strong reservations against the raffling of a semiautomatic weapon,” said R-Mayor Allan Fung. The winner of the raffle will still have to pass a background check and wait the required week before taking possession of the gun.
