Rice coach speaks at USAH National Female Coaching Symposium! Becky Salyards gave a presentation to more than 75 coaches attending the two-day USA Hockey Coaching Symposium, which was held during the 2014 NCAA Womens Frozen Four at Yale University in New Haven, CT. The presentation focused on how to incorporate dynamic and fun dry land/off-ice training to develop hockey players from ages U6 to U18. Salyards’ interactive presentation drew on her experience in developing the off-ice program for the Vermont Stars teams and the Rice Knights Prep Hockey team. Her program utilizes USA Hockeys American Development Model philosophy to develop the athlete FIRST and the hockey player SECOND to create a long term athlete.
