Rich Apgar 21 North Lake Circle Wyboo Plantation Manning, SC 29102 July 14, 2013 Dear Fellow Dealers, Distributors, Vendors and Friends: After considerable thought and soul-searching, I have decided after 34 years in the business it was time for me to retire. I assure you it was not an easy decision to make. I have enjoyed our friendship and interaction together. I loved my work and teaching what I knew to others. I got great joy inventing and innovating. I considered myself a MacGyver. I loved the challenge even when others said it could not be done. My early days as an integrator allowed me to utilize my knowledge as an installer to develop many products that were installer friendly. My original company became the 6th largest alarm company in San Diego. I was first to use the octagon as an alarm sign, first to tamper a RJ jack, and first to use CAT5 wiring. I pioneered integration as the first alarm company in San Diego to install alarms, intercom, central cleaning and music systems. As CTO and founder at Current Audio I am named on 18 Patents. My great great uncle Charles Emory Apgar apgar.net/eric/cea_info.html invented the paper cone speaker as we know it today along with the first recording device and ampliphone (amplifier). I was destined to follow his course. I want to take this opportunity to thank all y’all (I am living in the South now) for all the memories, challenges and friendships over the years that molded me into the person that I am. I extend my hand and knowledge to you even as I say good bye. I am still here for you. richapgar@currentaudio Sincerely, Rich Apgar CTO, Current Audio
