Rich, Don’t let big polluters and their congressional cronies stop us when we’re so close to a win. Submit a public comment supporting the EPA’s efforts to cut dirty carbon pollution here >> If the fight to curb global warming were a baseball game, President Obama and EPA would be about to strike out one of dirty energy’s heavy-hitters. Today, the Obama Administration announced a standard that will cut down carbon pollution from every future power plant in America. This is a game changer for climate change because power plants are our single largest source of carbon pollution. But corporate polluters and their allies in Congress are determined to block this critical step. So we have to come out swinging right now. Help us submit 60,000 public comments supporting this climate action by next week. Send your message now! You know how we can tell this is going to be a tough fight? Dirty Coal’s congressional lackeys already started attacking the EPA for this new clean air standard before they even saw it. At a hearing on climate change in the House of Representatives on Wednesday, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy faced a crowd of climate change-denying congressmen who used all kinds of crazy arguments to try and prove why we shouldn’t tell Dirty Coal to clean up their act. One climate change denier blamed carbon emissions from natural sources -- like plants and oceans -- to argue that human activity isn’t the problem. While another congressman just flat-out claimed that the earth isn’t warming. Then yesterday, Senator Mitch McConnell tried to force a vote on a bill blocking the EPA from limiting carbon pollution from power plants. Obviously, polluters and their allies will stop at nothing to delay, weaken and block the EPA from acting on climate change. That’s why we need your help to flood the EPA with positive comments to make sure this climate action on new power plants goes into effect as soon as possible. Tell the EPA: Don’t let climate change deniers stop you -- cut carbon pollution now! The facts are clear: unlimited carbon pollution from power plants is a key contributor to climate change, which is fueling more frequent extreme weather events and more asthma attacks. But if LCV supporters like you stand up and demand the strongest possible climate change safeguards, we can ensure a cleaner, healthier future for everyone. By submitting a public comment to the EPA today, your voice will be part of the official record. Don’t miss the chance to help make a historic impact on the fight for our planet’s future -- submit your public comment in support of this critical climate change action here.
