Rich: The latest on Miguel Cotto: Word is that Golden Boy Promotions offered Puerto Rican three-division former world champion Miguel Cotto $10 million to face Mexican former world champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in a meeting held on Tuesday between both parties. Alvarez already announced that he would be fighting in 2014 pay-per-view bouts on March 8, July 26 and November 22. An Alvarez-Cotto fight would likely be the best PPV option for Canelo. However, Cotto has options. He could end up facing or Floyd Mayweather in a rematch, or seek to regain a world title against IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos Molina or the winner of the WBA title fight between Austin Trout-Erislandy Lara or move up to middleweight to face WBO champion Peter Quillin. There has also been talk of a clash between Cotto and WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez.
