Rich and poor babies eat differently, and that difference stays - TopicsExpress

Rich and poor babies eat differently, and that difference stays with them later in life, according to a University at Buffalo study. The study looked at the eating patterns of American infants between 6 months and 12 months old. For babies, the World Health Organization and American Academy of Pediatrics recommend exclusive breast-feeding for six months with continuation of breast-feeding for 12 months or longer. But there is less agreement on the appropriate use of solid foods. As a result, no well-established dietary guidelines currently exist for infants and toddlers similar to the guidelines for children 2 years and older.
