Richard Benjamin Butler Sr. Sunrise: September 24, 1936 Sunset: June 27, 2014 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10 With sadden hearts and deep regrets the Butler, Johnson, Gordon, Moore, Cooper, and Dukuly families regret to announce the sudden death of their son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin, Richard B. Butler Sr., which occurred on Friday, June 27, 2014 in North Carolina at the Novant Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of some 50 years, Janie Johnson Butler; children: James Butler, Richard B. Butler, Jr. (Elenda), Isabella Mappy, Rab Butler, Gaye Czpah, and Thomas Bonimah; mother: Mamie Gordon Butler Cooper; siblings: Andrew Butler, Neh Dukuly Tolbert, Willette Dukuly (Dah), and Mully Dukuly, and an extensive list of loving relatives and friends in the USA, Europe, and Liberia. Wake Keeping: Friday, July 25, 7-9PM EST, Saint John’s Episcopal Church, 1623 Carmel Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28226 (704) 366-3034.
