Riches/materialistic things do not define us as Saints. If that - TopicsExpress

Riches/materialistic things do not define us as Saints. If that was the case then every wealthy person is going to Heaven (we know thats certainly not true) yet Jesus says quite the opposite. He says its hard for a rich person to make it into Heaven. Why, because they trust in their riches. People look on the outward appearance but God sees the heart. We as finite humans can not judge a persons worth to God by how they look, what they have, what they drive, where they live, what they wear or even their past. John the Baptist lived off the land in the wilderness & for clothing he wore camels hair girded with a leather belt. He ate locusts & wild honey yet Jesus asked what did you expect to see? A man dressed in fine clothing? There is more to him than what meets the eye... he was chosen to prepare the way for my coming! He was busy boldly preaching repentance & baptizing new believers to the point it cost him his head. Where are the true hard working, ride or die believers today? Jesus also said concerning John, For I say unto you, among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist. Many of Gods chosen people back then & now today had/have few riches but have hearts as pure gold. Many that were rich gave up all to follow Jesus & were happy to suffer for His sake. No its not a sin to have riches but it is a sin to allow the riches to have you. The Apostles, Prophets & Disciples were not greedy after filthy gain but worked for their necessities. In seeing their sincere hearts, The people freely sowed bountifully into their lives/ministry. The leaders gave back & they all shared among themselves, they were not selfish & there was no monopoly of the church by Leaders in order to become wealthy & famous! My extra 2 cents- these Christian Reality shows such as Preachers of LA, etc. & These big time Tele Evangelists that are preaching Watered down gospel messages about becoming a better you, just be happy, all is well, promoting books on wealth, but nothing on consequences of sin Are prime examples & its a crying Shame to Christians whom are true believers! #LetMyPeopleGo!
