Rick Perry wants to run for President again so hes ordering 1,000 National Guard troops to the border to address the immigration crisis. Do we want a President, from a southern border state, who manifests so little understanding of the border situation. 1). The border crossing were already dropping by half due to seasonal fluctuations. 2). Perry criticized the President saying, he ( the President) could just call the DOD and order the National Guard to the border to patrol. No, the President can not, not without Congressional authorization. 3). And why do it? The National Guard is legally prohibited from arresting or apprehending persons attempting to enter the border illegally. They are there as a political show, with no legal authority whatsoever. 4). That political show will cost Texas $12,000,000.00 - $17,000,000.00 dollars a month. 5). The border crisis is not about apprehension. The 57,000 women and children were in fact apprehended. Thats how we know there are 57,000 women and children. The crisis evolves from the fact that they are as a matter of law classified as refugees, and we are not funding the administrative side sufficiently to adjudicate their claims. $12,000,000.00 - $17,000,000.00 a month seems like a lot for Texas to pay to put on a virtually useless show because Perry wants the Republican Presidential nomination.
