Ricki Kaplan Mintz (Mom) - although I understand your identifying with this seemingly heartfelt approach - the letter she writes seems to me so condescending and one sided and belittling that I wish I was a Palestinian mother so I could respond. Infact, because she really does seem to mean so well, yet has no clue how terrible this would sound to the women she is writing to, She should take her kids and be forced to live in gaza where some privileged white asshole mother, who is ina country that is occupying her country (so she thinks) and currently killing thousand of her civillians (including the children she is asking about) and has the audacity to actually ask her if she loves her kids. What kind of mother would ask another mother that? Part of me thinks even that she is just trying some smart way to win some sympathy from the outside world using the mother card in order to gain sympathy while still sticking it to the arabs. Mom, I love you. Thank you for allowing me to see beyond my jewishness that I can see humanity first before religion or national identity. You did an amazing job Mom. You raised us with love beyond our concepts of who we are based on where we came from. I wonder how this mothers children will turn out. Probably as passive aggressive and insulting.
