Rickshaw Pullers are the Prime Movers in Strengthening Bangladesh Rural Economy :-) :-) I came to Dhaka in 1977 and got myself admitted in Dhaka University. Since then I am in Dhaka and Riskshaws are always my principal mode of transport. During this 38 years in Dhaka life, I could hardly recall that I used same Rickshaw second time. When I ride Rickshaw, I always ask a question Where he came from? The maximum answers were on behalf of north and mid Bangladesh districts. In answering a question like Why did you come to pull Rickshaws? The answer was straight that no job in the village and also a quick way to earn money in Dhaka. Recently sending money to village using BRAC bKash system added value by saving resources. Their entertainment during free time were very traditional like enjoying popular cinemas, playing cards, etc. By taking Rickshaw pullers life with adding an entertainment, a program was launched by a local group in Dhaka to organize Rickshaw Riding Race in 2013 just after the Bengali New Year, in the month of April in Manik Mia Avenue, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
