Ride the Train to Hear Stories of the Underground Railroad Brecksville, Ohio – Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) will offer a Sunday Matinee: Escape on the Underground Railroad, on Sunday, February 9, 2014. Join National Park Service staff and volunteers as they explore the dangerous realities and complexities of the Underground Railroad aboard CVSR. Costumed characters will take you back before the Civil War and reveal how difficult decisions meant the difference between life and death. What were the code words? Whom could you trust? What would you have done? Well find the answers together during this interactive program. Tickets are $12 each for everyone ages 3 and over. The train departs from Akron Northside Station at 10:10 a.m. and from Brecksville Station at 11:35 a.m. To register, call 800-468-4070 or visit CVSR. Akron Northside Station is located at 27 Ridge Street, off Howard Street in downtown Akron 44304. Brecksville Station is located at Station Road Bridge Trailhead, intersection of Riverview Road and Chippewa Creek Drive, 1/8 mile south of SR 82, Brecksville 44141. Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) is a private sector, not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) volunteer supported organization operating in partnership with Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) and is dedicated to the preservation of passenger rail transportation in Cuyahoga Valley and the historic Ohio & Erie Canalway.
