Riders, I continue to be impressed how fast time flies…. It was just “the other day” when we met in the parking lot of New Spring Church at 8am… for the best bike ride of the week… and I think I’m up for some déjà vu this coming Saturday… kinda like “play it again Sam”… So, are you up for a repeater??? Let’s do what we do best… ride, ride and ride some more!!! At 8am… let’s Tally-Ho for 22 to 47 miles of the best riding around… Make the proper preparations… hydrate and find the bike, helmet, shoes, shorts and some nutrition of your choice… and join us for the ECE SVR.. .Electric City Endurance Saturday Velo Ride… it’s a great way to start your Saturday!!! ECE welcome to Russ who is relocating from Kansas… where every ride has a head-wind… And to Mark, who has officially joined after 5 months of riding with us!!! Sweeper props to Ashlan and Gary K of 3 Cross Tri…. Yep, that’s how we roll… cycling ambassadors… Well wishes to Val and Paula as they travel to Pennsylvania to race in the Can-Am Police-Fire Games… which includes a crit, road race and a TT!!! GO GET’EM!!! ECE props to Radio-Ben… you know ECE is about moving forward with a passion to share… and we share-connect-advocate… here’s how Ben demonstrates this… which I just learned… over the past year.. Ben has encouraged a friend to get and stay active… it started during a rainy camping trip… Ben encouraged his friend to get on a treadmill… one year and 75 pounds later… Ben continues to encourage the guy to remain active!!! Props to Ben and his friend!!! So, why not share what YOU have with others… the drive… the motivation… the dedication… the commitment to better health… and physical FUN!! (I’m glad FUN is not a four letter word… like WORK!!! You know 3 letter words are better for you than 4 letter words!!) ECE props to Radio-Ben’s son who set up a cold water station in P-ton… where he traded you a cold 20oz water for one dollar… and it was refreshing and I think we got the better end on that trade… don’t you??? Last week… we missed Coach Cheek… who was on vacation… what we learned was… if the coach is away, his athletes will play… HOOKY… yep, his athletes went MIA… I guess Russ T had something better to do??? I wonder what that was… here’s a warning… if you don’t ride SVR or TNR (Tuesday Night Ride)…and we don’t know why.. we’ll just make up your excuse… WOW… I can’t believe Russ missed a ride for THAT!!! Here’s a Splash Flash… for ECE members, save the date… on July 26 Team Rekito will host a pool party at 3pm… bring food and drink for you and your family… a grill will be available if needed… paper goods will be provided, check the ECE website, electriccityendurance for more details to be posted… please note, this event has been designated as Speedo Free For Guys… Here’s a follow up… since I got zero interest from the “hint” about going long next summer… instead of riding the Chattanooga Cho-Cho… I’m signing up for… for…. for… wait for it….
