Rides of Life November 30, 2012 at 8:29am I wondering which ride Ill take first today, on the Merry Go Round of life. The Carousel, with its tame little horses, going up and down, round and round, but not too fast paced. Peaceful and calm. The Tilt a Whirl, it kind of spins out of control from one side to the other, as it rumbles around it track. Rough, forceful and kind of uncomfortable. The Bumper Cars, where everyone tries to crash into you, box you in or push you out of the way. Nah, too bumpy and bone rattling for me right now. The Scrambler, spinning you in circles, as it spins in circles, picking up speed til gravity pushes you into the outside corner.Not sure thats my cup of tea either. Theres always the Roller Coaster. It seems to start off nice and slow, up the first incline at least, but then hold on because its fast from that point on.Your flying as you drop into low valleys, then up high again, like mountain top experiences, sometimes they take you totally upside down and all around, some roller coaster rides even go through tunnels;dark scary tunnels of the unknown; some of them splash you into cold water, a bit of a rude awakening.Nope, not for me today. The Drop Zone, well Id probably like the ride up and the scenic view from such towering heights, but the drop that terrifies the stomach, causing it to ram into the heart, which almost jumps out your throat,while your ears pop and eye balls near fall outta your head. I like excitement and fun but not to the point of heart failure, life already tosses me these things regularly. Maybe The Ferris Wheel is more my thing today. A nice ride that takes you up slowly, as it fills up its seats. Stopping at the top is always peaceful, you get to look out over the tree tops and surrounding area. Over the crowd below,the noise, the hustle and bustle and pushing.The sun on your face and wind in your hair. Able to gain a new perspective, with time out from the roar of the busy crowd. From high at the top of the ride , you can choose to look down into the chaos, or past the chaos. Better still to just be ever prepared for lifes chaos. Know whose really in control; GOD. Make known your needs and desires, through speaking to Him at the BEGINNING of the day.Trust Him explicitely and which ever ride you find yourself on, youll enjoy or learn from. As my brother always says, ITS ALL GOOD!!! Lord, help me see all aspects of my life from the Heights of Your Amazing Perspective and may I remember to give You, ALLthe glory amen.
