Riding down the road yesterday, I was listening to a conversation - TopicsExpress

Riding down the road yesterday, I was listening to a conversation between Sean Hannity, conservative talk show host, and Reverend Jesse Jackson, poet laureate of race hustlers. Hannity was sharing and bemoaning the fact that 65% of his income goes to taxes, and Mr. Jackson gleefully replied, If you dont make it, we cant take it! So...you can work like a dog, do well in this country, and look for the government to take a good portion of it--OR--you can sit back, wait for the government to take it from others and then send it to you! Everyone loses! People like Hannity are robbed of the incentive to keep on succeedIng. Why try, when its gonna be taken from you? And the beneficiaries of overtaxing may well lose the initiative to go out and do well for themselves. Why bother, when Uncle Sam keeps you fed and housed--but still poor--on the government plantation! Income inequality will be a big issue in the months to come, pitting Americans against each other. I believe we are getting a peek at some of the ramifications of it in the events of the past weeks. Please, Lord, heal our nation!
