Right Thinking: Youve the power to change the world if you choose it by Phil Whittingham It’s all about love and needs. Specifically it’s about love being greater than need. What lies at the very root of right thinking, I believe, is this fundamental ethos and if we are all to become powerful we must be able to understand the difference between love and need. This question opens up our thinking: Is the reason for what Im presently doing, or who Im choosing to spend my time with, based on love or need? It really isnt a difficult question to answer. Of course needs will always come into the equation, we humans can’t escape our basic needs just yet, however it has to be about defining our motivation. The less we need, the greater our power. In other words when love is our primary motivation - in whatever our actions - our power is there because of right thinking. Right thinking because love is the universal force, once properly understood and relied upon, that frees us from unnecessary need. Sound a bit heavy? Only if youve yet to free yourself from the root of unnecessary need: fear. Never be confused. Your basic needs are there to be met and all being well you have been given the proper resources to find them. The ability to fend for ourselves (have independence) is paramount if we are to minimise our need i.e. increase our power. There may be times when reducing our needs can feel like an insurmountable challenge, however, taking it day-by-day, keeping our right thinking goals in mind, will help us to achieve it. Continue to be mindful of this simple, basic premise: Love Must Be Greater Than Need - in whatever your actions.
