Right after Anita’s show, it was our honor to host the five-hundred-somethingth Cast Party at Birdland! As always, the place was packed to the walls with tourists, pals and talented troubadours ready and willing to entertain. John Manzari (left) is a tap dancing wonder, and dazzled us with his fancy footwork. Aja Nisenson had us in stitches with a performance that included about 14 pieces of chewing gum. Jonathan Karrant gave us a preview of his upcoming Kitano concert. Gabrielle Stravelli proved that she’s one of the top jazz ladies in this or any other town (and will be hosting Jazz Party at Birdland this Sunday)! David Raleigh celebrated his new cd with an absolutely great original song! Adam Shapiro was his usual funny and charming self, performing a song with the perfect Barry-Manilow-squeezing-out-the-light finale! David LaMarr sang his head off, as always. Sarah Sellers and Monica Chapman came all the way from Toronto and Dallas, respectively, to serenade us.
