Right before the commencement of any political campaigns in the country recently, there had been social media criticisms of the present administration of Nasarawa State. One noticeable thing about the criticisms was the critics inability to present some convincing points in their arguments. For example their perception of governance was that the State as an institution stashed funds somewhere else awaiting deployment to any and every developmental aspectss of the State. Others seem to believe that since their anticipated development of the State could not be achieved in the less than four year administration, such action was an indication of the governments failure. But the most dangerous of the critics because of their sentimental views, were those who believe that ethnicity and religious considerations should have served as the basis of a new administration or determining factor in the political direction of the State. All of them, we may not lose sight to their fanatical manners in the erroneous perception of governance. Certainly, fanatism is not good material for the educated, especially when right academic exposure were expected to have taught one reasoning objectively. However, let the critics be aware that funds for public services are not something already kept in Bank accounts by government. Rather, it is an aggregation of incomes from variety of sources, of course, including allocations from the Federation Account in the case of this country. Thus, our expectations in providing the much needed services should take into consideration the income that was available. By the way, whatever were the basis of our assessment of the administration in the State presently must be predicated on the States income. Likewise manner any other subsequent administration. Those ignorantly, shouting that their man would perform better than what is on ground at the moment were simply deceitful and mischievous to themselves and those who believe them ignorantly. By now, we should all be aware that the dwindling income to the three tier of governments due to the falling oil price in international market coupled with mismanagement of our resources by the ruling party and the leadership are impacting negatively to service delivery by most States. And indeed, Nasarawa State could hardly be an exception more especially as it lacks any reliable and dependable internally generating revenue sources. Nevertheless, the present administration in Nasarawa State deserve commendations, especially when viewed against the background of its leaned resources and the burden of liabilities inherited from its predecessors. Yet inspite of this, the administration was able to have made impressive outing in governance. As for the critics of the administration and their spate of hatred of the States leadership on either ethnicity or religion, we advised them to learn from the emergence of PDP gubernatorial candidate in the party. That is to tell them ethnicity factor is inconsequential in the emergence of a leadership in the State. My remarks should never be imiscontrued as endorsement of PDP as any reliable party nor consider its candidate competent enough to lead Nasarawa State.
