Right guys, Im currently after getting a new Dane Axe, as my current one has a head which is far too big for reenactment. I can wield it, but its not quick enough for me to ever use it effectively. Unfortunately, I cant use it in an authentic manner so its ended up more a display only piece. I did have an axe which I made in France with some of the Jomsborg lads when I was at a show there, but that got broke. The main issue was that the pole was rather thin, due to the eye of the axe was relatively small. However, this axe had a vacant space in the head, and seems to be popular in Europe... But here is the thing...how accurate are these axes? Anyone who can help, Id really appreciate input, as realistically it means I can have an axe for reenactment which is a sensible weight for fighting. Picture below.
