Right, just off the phone to one of Andy Clarkes (CEO of ASDA) - TopicsExpress

Right, just off the phone to one of Andy Clarkes (CEO of ASDA) representatives from his head office. He assured me that they are aware that, and i quote, The BBC has misrepresented them. They are releasing a counter-statement today to reassure customers that they are completely neutral and to make sure customers realise that Clarkes statement was only partly used. He did not state prices WILL rise. He said Prices could rise, they could fall (like Morrisons said they would,) or they could stay the same. Remember though if prices rise....they will be invalidating their asda price policy which is their main selling point. They simply would not do this and risk the huge loss of business and customers, the fall in share prices and opening the door for the competition like Morrisons to swoop in. I asked if they were planning on taking the BBC to task for this and the guy said hes not sure what action they are taking yet but would urge people to use the BBCs complaints page and that we can expect Asdas counter-statement to be released at some point today. Ummmm.....Are people as angry as me at the moment about the way the bias and deliberate misinformation is getting out of hand?
