Right now, I agree with this. Better that both Russia and China are able to neutralize the hereto US predominance in military power. Each will cancel each other out, hopefully. But long term, I think not, not anymore than a militarily powerful Germany long neutralized the old British Empire, preventing WW2. Ditto, that many rival colonial/ imperial powers in Europe prevented a WWI. While the US Empire is the major problem to world peace and stability right now, and the rise of Russia and China at least appears to be helping to tame it, at least control it somewhat, intra-capitalist power rivalries for resources and market hegemony have historically led to two world wars already, and will almost certainly lead to a WW3. And make no mistake, Russia and China are emerging capitalist powers, not socialist or communist, and they are headlong entering into their imperialist phases of development. So long as capitalism exists, in all its class and imperialistic socioeconomic relationships, war will remain with us, regardless of who is more or less dominant. The Real Beast is capitalism.
