Right now on Round and Square—Tuesdays Lunar Calendar. The solar year is trickling away, but we arent even halfway into the eleventh lunar month. Now, mind you, its a Closed personality day. That isnt exactly the kind of day to unleash your inner Neil Diamond and start singing (maybe a day for karaoke...alone...at home). Maybe. In other words, whether or not you are a social butterfly, the peculiarities of the lunar calendar shout: Be a homebody...today. Oh, and if you are reading/hearing all of this a bit too literally, remember that these have always been treated as cultural guidelines rather than strict rules. Thats why they interest me (I teach cultural history, after all). So there have always been ways to get around little prohibitions like Closed...but you might have to wear an amulet. Do avoid planting crops (just look out the window) and getting married. Its a terrific day for constructing dikes, patching and plugging unsightly places on your vast, rolling property, moving away from that property, or puttering around the stove. And one of my favorite baleful asterisms is back (if one can have a favorite among bad things emanating from on high). Be careful: it is a Natatorial Calamity day (a less alarmist translation might be Swimming Misfortune, but you get the idea). This kick in the asterism only comes up once in a while, and I love writing natatorial.
