Right so far today its been a slew of things on here that make me despair of people , Posts getting deleted, blatant troll posts and windups and more than one pricing thread . Cap that with asking for help for what should be a standard party in anyones book whilst at the gig in question . Leads me to wonder why on earth some people are even attempting to call themselves a dj . I cannot understand how in the age of google that ANYONE cannot do some research and figure out how to fill a few hours with music . We get work in days,weeks and months in advance . So how can you be in a position that at a gig you have no clue what your doing . In the ye olde days ie pre google we had to watch Totp and listen to the radio and read nme and god forbid go down to the record shop and chat to the guy behind the counter about the weeks new stuff and what they had just in on white label . Or we had the dj bible and any of the older guys will know what that is . All down to being lazy . You dont do the legwork then you end up stuck but please dont come along pleading for help on a screwup of your own making . If you want to be a Dj then do your homework if you can honestly say that you cant be put into a random room of random people and provide a few hours of music then you are not a Dj your just playing at it . Love and knowledge of music is the lynchpin of the job . If you dont have either your going to fail miserably . Yes its a rant , No I wont be deleting it and this is Matt the dj typing not Matt the Admin . You will know when I get fed up of the post I will simply stop replying to it.
