Righto friends, weve made to the top three in the Aussie Day music countdown. Song #3 Razors Edge, Goanna, 1983, Album: Spirit of Place Goanna was formed in Geelong in the late 70s by lead singer Shane Howard. The band took many interesting turns before their break up in the mid 80s. Singing about similar issues ( indiginous and wilderness ) as Midnight Oil but with a more melodic sound. Best known for their classic song Solid Rock from the same album, Goanna is sometimes seen as one hit wonders. Shane Howard went onto a reasonably successful solo career, with a favourite song of mine called Walk on Fire, have a look if youve got a spare three minuets.
