This week will be a special version where I talk about my better fortunes and lucky/happy experiences while reading messages from the listeners. First up is a Kouhaku-related message from Rei-san of Ohta, Tokyo. Ohno-san, good morning. Arashi-san have been announced as hosts of the White Team for the Kouhaku Utagassen, havent they? Congratulations. As this is the fifth time Arashi-san have become the hosts, is there anything youre enthusiastic about? If its not too much trouble, please share with us. It must be pretty difficult, Id imagine, so please do your best! Thank you very much. Man. Its the fifth time. Its like, have we been doing it for that long?? Man, seriously, Id honestly never thought that wed be doing it 5 times. Even amongst the members, were like, Thisll be the last time. We heard about it in Hawaii. Like, Oh, is that so? Man, but theres a unique nervousness to it. (laughs) Eh? Of course, its something you can only experience at the Kouhaku Utagassen. But well, once it starts, it passes in a flash. Of course, the whole time wed still feel nervous, but its actually pretty fun. We get to watch all sorts of artistes performances from the side. We get to watch it from pretty up close. So thats fun too. Yeah. But well, when Arashi gets to sing, just before the performance or something, wed be pretty nervous. Like wondering whether our choreographys okay and all. (laughs) It kinda feels like a festival. Mm. A very properly held festival. (laughs) Yeah, but well... Ever since weve been given the chance to play hosts for the White Team, weve had 3 wins and 1 loss. Yeah. So its... I wonder how itll be this year, with the champions pennant. Of course wed want to win. But well, its a little embarrassing. Holding the champions pennant. Not only that, but theres quite a fair number of television viewers watching, right? Its like, Crap, Im really under a lot of attention right now! Id be thinking stuff like that. Its a little embarrassing. But its definitely a good omen. On that note, this year, Id like the 5 of us to hold it. Yeah. Well, as far as its the Kouhaku Utagassen, Id like to have that sense of competition while enjoying it all. This time, the host for the Red Team is the actress Yoshitaka Yuriko-san. In the past, on a location shoot... We went on location to catch beach congers. Yoshitaka-san and I didnt catch anything. Aiba-chan was there, too, and at the end, five minutes before the location shoot was about to end, he caught a huge beach conger! (laughs) Hes a miracle man. But well, really, in terms of working together, its probably just been along those lines. So Id like to enjoy it together. This year, 31st December falls on Wednesday. Heres to a happy new year!
