Riley ~ Courtesy Post ~ Fort McMurray, AB but there is a possibility of placement for Riley in Victoria, BC. Please note, we have not met Riley and are just helping his current owners find him the right home. Riley is a gorgeous neutered 2.5 yr old cocker spaniel in need of a new home. Riley enjoys walks, loves his belly rubs and playing with his toys. Riley has had a rough past so he has some specific needs. His owners current work schedule has changed, where they are no longer working locally and in camp on a 14 and 7 day rotation. Riley needs a home with routine and stability and where someone is home more often to give him the structure that he needs. The ideal home for Riley; ~ A dog savvy owner with a lot of love & patience who can build up his trust, properly introduce him to strangers & other dogs. ~ Someone with some training experience who would be willing to hire a behaviorist if needed. ~ A household with NO children or visiting children. ~ No other dogs ~ Regular exercise ~ Someone who is is home a lot and can provide routine and stability. A little history on Riley; He was adopted in June 2014 after spending 8 months at the local SPCA. He was originally seized by the SPCA from a home where he was most likely abused. The current owners worked with him and saw many great changes in his behavior. They brought in a pet sitter to look after him when they were on their 14 day rotation but with all the changes Riley started acting out. When they were home things improved but they realize with their working situation Riley needs more stability. Riley does have a bite history. Once when being woken from sleeping by being picked up by his owner and a second time he bit a women when overstimulated during playtime. If you feel you can give Riley a loving home and meet his needs, please contact me at [email protected] and we will put you in touch with Rileys current owners. I also have a more detailed email from them regarding Riley which I will forward to anyone that is seriously interested. This has been a very difficult and heart breaking decision for them so please lets keep the focus on sharing Rileys story. Hopefully together we can find him the right home. Thank you!
