Rileys had some blood in his urine for the several hours, and has been needing to pee A LOT. They ruled out a bladder infection, and took him in for a kidney ultrasound around 5:30 tonight. He apparently has a kidney stone. The team is still discussing what to do about it, as its not in an obstructive area, but it did start causing some pain around 4:00, so they may try blasting it into smaller pieces tomorrow. In all the excitement, the drain in Rileys head came loose somehow. It had to be removed tonight and a stitch was placed to close the hole up. Not sure what they are going to do tomorrow, but no drain for the evening. Am keeping my fingers crossed that we dont have any swelling tonight and they decide to just keep the darn thing closed up. While I was feeding Riley (he was starving, but was so tired from the pain meds), Riley bent his RIGHT knee and propped his leg up. The nurse and I just stared at his leg and stared at Riley. Riley had no idea what we were looking at -- we had to tell him that he had moved his right leg ON HIS OWN!! He tried to do it again, but couldnt. Thats OK -- it means the wiring is still there, we just need to figure out how to get it working again. I had to call Ron at home and wake him up -- I felt a little guilty because its his first night home, and I know he is exhausted, but some things are worth being woken up for! So very very grateful for this positive sign from above. Keep those prayers coming!!!
